Thanks to Julie over at Peanut Butter Fingers I decided to try something new for breakfast this morning. I made a bowl of overnight oats! I will admit that I have been reading Julie's blog for awhile now and every time I see her eating overnight oats I think how easy they would make breakfast, but for some reason I haven't taken the plunge and actually tried them! I decided that these would make for a good breakfast this week since it is a shorter work week and I didn't want to have to buy a ton of groceries that I may or may not use.
Overnight Oats:
1 6oz container of Chobani Strawberry-Banana Yogurt
1/4c Skim milk
1/2c old fashioned oatmeal
Mix everything together and refrigerate overnight. It was so yummy this morning! I had a banana too once I got to work, but I am pretty sure the banana would be good in the actual oatmeal as well. I can't wait to experiment with this general concept :)
My goals are to cut back on eating out, eat healthier, and not be boring about it all!!

Favorite Things--October Edition
Yes, I do know that it is now November 21 and I am way behind on my blog, but life has been a little crazy this past month.
1. Kashi Peanutty Dark Chocolate bar
I got this bar before my mom and I traveled to Grand Cayman in early October because I thought it would be a good choice to satisfy my sweet tooth and also something to help me stay full in the afternoons. I love all Kashi products and this one surely didn't disappoint. The nutritional information isn't bad either for an afternoon snack.
2. Kashi Dark Chocolate Coconut
I read about this bar on a message board and thought that it sounded really good. I love coconut, but my mom does not so I waited until I got back from my trip to buy them. Again, delicious!! The nutritional information is pretty similar between both bars so I recommend trying which ever one sounds best to you! I love to throw one into my lunch bag so an easy afternoon snack.
PS: Kashi currently has a coupon available on their website for $1.50 on 2 boxes
